If over 20 million black slave women were raped over this same period of the 246 years, what respect or faith would you have in this white Jesus, your Lord and Savior? The Bible says that without a vision (hope) the people perish. The word perish in that verse means cast off restraint. You would seek comfort in instant gratification through sex. They were left to the spirit of the fertility goddess Ashtura, who came in and influenced them to have sex with anyone and anything handy. The stronghold of sex swallowed your ethnic group (saved and unsaved) and all but own them. Unfortunately the church (black, white, and everyone in between) has not done a King Josiah repentance - has not cleaned up the sin of racism and sexual rebellion. Instead, the whites are in denial that racism is still being practiced in the church, and blacks are denying that sexual rebellion can be conquered by Jehovah Gibor. Both sides need to repent of these and all other sins. Homosexuals have influenced black gospel music because they practically run the black church (pulpit to pew). Sadly the black church refuses to cry out to God and allow Him to deliver those jailed by Ashtura. Neither black or white Christians will war for God and retrieve His identity as a Righteous Holy King of all that exist, who loves all ethnic groups equally.

A VERY necessary video. She is SO SO spectacular as both a singer and an educator. I think there is room to be had for discussion about what constitutes as "style" in modern pop music, because some things are indeed artistic expression and should be respected as such, but on the other side of it, much of what has become the style of modern mainstream music vocally speaking has developed out of a LACK of care for the voice. As someone who has studied voice since youth, it was refreshing to hear someone of her stature speak publicly about mainstream vocalization in this manner, because i feel many within the classical field who come to places like youtube try not to say anything to offend, but she didn't parse her words at all which was so great. Singers like Mariah had a great voice, but from a technical standpoint she has always had glaring issues with her technique even since her debut-daydream era (that many hail as her best era). We have seen time and time again singers who dont care for their voice or proper technique have had to pay the price especially now that the greats of the by-gone era are in older-age. I think its time for people to start being honest about vocals and vocal technique without focusing on the deified images of these mainstream singers. It was great that you showed the Mado Robin clip as well, because yes you indeed CAN sing that high properly most people just don't and can't, so they shouldn't (which i think was her main point). I feel once people have better examples and we can start focusing on the issues with mainstream vocalists, we can achieve a higher level of vocal technique even in genres outside of classical, but with the instant gratification culture that we have now, I don't know if we'll see that anytime soon, unfortunately lol.

One Detail: As a singer myself I can tell you (only regarding covers) - changing the key of a song, especially lowering it is not always done because we can't sing them in the original key. In fact I happen to raise keys sometimes to make them easier. But mostly I change key because it sounds better, even if the song is not hard for me to sing in the original key. So Chaka (a singer that is very particular about the texture if her voice) lowering a Jackson5 song is not because the high range was a problem for her. U can say about her what u want - range was never her problem, especially high belting. Her 5th octave belts are incredibly efficiant.
